Article Submissions

All submsissions for publication should be original material not published or under consideration for publication elsewhere.

Articles should not exceed 12,000 words. Notes or Book Reviews should not exceed 3,000 words.

Manuscripts (scholarly articles, notes and book reviews) must be submitted in Microsoft Word format via e-mail to the general Editor of JHM (Alberto Acereda [albertoacereda@gmail.com]). Authors should include their full name, institutional affiliation, and e-mail.

Articles are peer reviewed anonymously.

Required Format

  • Title in capital letters.
  • Abstract / Resumen (150 words maximum, both in English and in Spanish).
  • Complete text of the article. All paragraphs must be in single space, without indentation and with one blank line between paragraphs. For long quotations or poems, do not use the indentation feature or the quoting marks. For shorter quotes, use quoting marks (“…”) throughout the article, and remember that indented quotes do not require quotation marks. All quotes and references need to be verified.
  • Footnotes: use the automatic Word feature for footnotes. Do not use endnotes.
  • Works Cited, without font changes. At the end of the article, a list of works cited in the article needs to be included using the alphabetical order by author. Follow the style guidelines of the MLA regarding the way to quote and the use of italics and quoting marks. Each work cited is considered a separate paragraph. Leave a blank space between each bibliographical entry.
  • Fonts: Should always be: Times New Roman size 12 points.
  • Lines: 1.0
  • No Indents.
  • No Page Numbers: Do not insert page numbers at all.

Please do not send Photographs, pictures or images.
The Advisory Board will not review manuscripts that do not follow these norms.

Normas de publicacion

Todos los envíos para posible publicación deben ser materiales originales no publicados previamente o que estén siendo considerados por otra revista o publicación.

Los artículos no deben pasar de 12.000 palabras. Las Notas o Reseñas de Libros no deben pasar de 3.000 palabras.

Los manuscritos (artículos de investigación, notas y reseñas de libros) deben enviarse por e-mail en formato Microsoft Word al Editor General de JHM (Alberto Acereda [albertoacereda@gmail.com]). En dicho email debe incluirse el nombre completo del autor, la afiliación institucional y el e-mail.

Los artículos se evalúan anónimamente.

Formato obligatorio

  • Título en letras mayúsculas.
  • Resumen / Abstract (150 palabras máximo, tanto en inglés como en español).
  • Texto completo del artículo. Todos los párrafos deben ir a un espacio, sin sangrías y con una línea en blanco entre párrafos. Para citas largas o poemas, no introducir la herramienta automática de sangrías tampoco, ni entrecomillar. Para citas cortas, usar el entrecomillado (“…”) a lo largo de todo el artículo. Todas las citas deben ser rigurosas y verificadas.
  • Notas a pie de página: usar la herramienta automática de Word para las notas a pie de página. No incluir notas finales.
  • Obras citadas, sin cambio de tamaño y tipo de letra. Al final del artículo habrá una lista de obras citadas a lo largo del artículo usando el orden alfabético por autor. Se debe seguir las normas de la MLA en cuanto a citas y a uso de cursivas y entrecomillados.
  • Tamaño y Tipo de letra: Siempre Times New Roman 12.
  • Líneas: 1.0
  • Sin sangrías.
  • Sin paginación: No incluir el número de página.

El Consejo Editorial no revisará manuscritos que no sigan estas normas.
